Terms of Service

Effective October 31, 2026

These terms apply when you use the Cantonese Garden app. By using it you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. "We" and "us" mean the team behind Cantonese Garden; you can reach us at dev@faantung.com.

Who can use the app

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian.

Your account

You can play without an account, but your progress is then saved only on your phone. If you create an account, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you think someone else has used it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.

Fair use

Please do not:

• choose a display name that is offensive, impersonates someone, or infringes another person's rights;
• harass other players;
• cheat, for example by altering the app or its data to change your scores, currency or leaderboard position;
• try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the app or its servers, or copy its content in bulk.

We may reset progress, remove a display name, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Our content

The lessons, audio, artwork and software in Cantonese Garden belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial learning. Jade, coins, items and other in-app rewards have no cash value and cannot be sold or exchanged outside the app.

Purchases

If the app offers subscriptions or other purchases, they are sold through the App Store or Google Play, and the store's terms cover payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, which you can do in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.

Learning results

Pronunciation and tone checks are automatic and can be wrong. Treat scores as practice guidance, not as a formal assessment of your Cantonese.

Changes to the app

We are always working on Cantonese Garden, so features, lessons and rewards may change or be removed. We aim to keep the app available but cannot promise it will always work without interruption.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data or progress, arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app if the change is significant. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
